Antique French balance scales. Early 1900s Double-pan merchant’s scale, would have been used in a French grocer’s shop or market stall to weigh produce and dry goods using counterweights. Original painted wooden base in the most wonderful ochre yellow over blue. Beautiful patina. Wooden base, steel top and brass weighing plates. Very heavy. In antique condition with signs of use and wear commensurate with age. Some surface rust, paint loss, and patina. Please see all photos.
